چکیده
Purpose: This study compared screw and Kirschner-wire (K-wire) fixation for intra-articular fractures of the proximal phalanx head regarding success union functional outcomes. Methods: In this retrospective study, we enrolled patients with closed phalangeal treated between January 2011 December 2021. Patients open wounds, tendon or neurovascular injuries, comminuted fractures, middle were excluded. Patients’ demographics, bone union, interphalangeal (PIP) joint range motion (ROM), grip power, complications collected analyzed. The percentage surface involvement number fragments also analyzed in relation to results. Results: Among 41 patients, 21 managed fixation, remaining 20 K-wire fixation. mean rate was 100% group 95.0% group, no statistically significant difference (p=0.488). Other parameters (PIP ROM, time power) not significantly different two groups. Regardless treatment modality, PIP ROM showed negative associations more surfaces (p<0.001) presence a greater (p=0.040).Conclusion: head, modality (screw K-wire) did affect outcome. Instead, after treatment.

Open intramedullary Kirschner wire versus screw and plate fixation for unstable forearm fractures in children.
PURPOSE To compare the outcomes of intramedullary Kirschner wire versus screw and plate fixation for unstable forearm fractures in children aged older than 10 years. METHODS Records of 32 children aged 10 to 15 (mean, 12) years with displaced fractures of the radius and ulna were retrospectively reviewed. 17 boys and 4 girls underwent intramedullary Kirschner wiring, whereas 10 boys and one g...
متن کاملFractures of the proximal phalanx and metacarpals in the hand: preferred methods of stabilization.
Treatment of fractures of the proximal phalanx and metacarpals is based on the presentation of the fracture, degree of displacement, and difficulty in maintaining fracture reduction. A wide array of treatment options exists for the variation in fracture patterns observed. Inherently stable fractures do not require surgical treatment; all other fractures should be considered for additional stabi...
متن کاملExternal fixation for displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneum.
A minimally-invasive procedure using percutaneous reduction and external fixation can be carried out for Sanders' type II, III and IV fractures of the os calcis. We have treated 54 consecutive closed displaced fractures of the calcaneum involving the articular surface in 52 patients with the Orthofix Calcaneal Mini-Fixator. Patients were followed up for a mean of 49 months (27 to 94) and assess...
متن کاملTreatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures with closed reduction and percutaneous screw fixation.
BACKGROUND Surgical treatment of displaced intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus is a standard procedure in many institutions. To avoid soft-tissue complications, several minimally invasive procedures have recently been introduced. The aim of this study was to assess the percutaneous treatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures with use of one of these techniques. METHODS A...
متن کاملCannulated screw versus Kirschner-wire fixation for Milch II lateral condyle fractures in a paediatric sawbone model: a biomechanical comparison
Purpose Lateral condyle fractures of the humerus are common in the paediatric population, accounting for up to 20% of elbow fractures. Traditional management involves internal fixation with Kirschner (K)-wires, however, this has been associated with complications and insufficiently rigid fixation. Recently, cannulated screws have been proposed as a more stable method of fixation. While cannulat...
